G2 TGR evolved out of the need to have a sans serif for our own every day use. Early stages and admittedly quite rough versions of G2 TGR were recklessly used for a number of projects dating back to 2016. Over the course of the following years we gradually polished, adapted and expanded the typeface to suit changing requirements and to offer a refined version to a wider public.
G2 TGR is our take on a contemporary approach to humanist san serif lettering. Combining fearful symmetry with snappy strokes and sharp endings. The characteristic narrowing line width towards the stems and junctions was designed in order for G2 TGR to be well legible at small running text sizes, as well as having a distinctive display appearance.
“Tyger Tyger burning bright, In the forests of the night: What immortal hand or eye, dare frame thy fearful symmetry?” (William Blake, 1794)
